Welcome to Lead Employer!

As you begin your time in specialty training, we would like to wish all of our new colleagues-in-training the warmest of welcomes to Lead Employer. 

 

Who is Lead Employer?

Lead Employer is part of the St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospital NHS Trust and currently employ over 12,000 doctors and dentists-in-training, based across six regions within the UK, including the North West, West Midlands, East Midlands, East of England, Thames Valley and London and the South East.
 

We want to make you aware that during your time in training, we will be your one and only employer which means one point of contact for all your employment queries or issues and therefore one less thing for you to worry about. 
 

During your specialty training we are responsible for overseeing all of your employment matters such as:

  • Issuing your Contract of Employment
 
  • Supporting you throughout your pre-employment process
 
  • Providing access to all Policies, Processes and Forms
 
  • Helping to assist with your employment queries
 
  • Providing the best wellbeing support
 

 

So, how are you different to my Host Trust?

Throughout your training journey, we liaise with both your Host Organisation and Health Education England to ensure you are supported in the right way.
 

Your Host Organisation will provide your training environment, in addition to local supervision and management.
 

Health Education England will provide supervision and monitor progress of your training, ensuring consistency with the handling and resolution of concerns relating to capability and health.
