Published: 28th November 2021
For this year’s Disability History Month we caught up with some of our colleagues who shared experiences on their own disabilities and impairments.
The three part podcast series shares an insight into the lives of our Lead Employer and STHK colleagues as they talk about how their disabilities impact their roles and where they get support from.
The first part of the series is with Dr Olukemi Oyedeji (formerly Adeyemi) who finished her Public Health training with Lead Employer on 2019. Listen below to how she overcame her first years of training with a neurological condition.
We then talked to Laura Marks and she is starting her journey in the NHS as the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Lead for St Helens and Knowsley Having cerebral palsy herself, she spoke about her study with Autism Spectrum Condition and the importance of allyship.
To conclude the series, we talked with Lead Employer's own Head of Service Delivery, Jo Redhead. Being diagnosed as partially sighted, listen below on how she sees life alongside her guide dog, Dolly, and how she has become one of the senior members in Lead Employer.
